This was such an incredible wedding that we had been so excited about! We absolutely love Sun Peaks Mountain.
The August day was so balmy, with blazing sun but also a cool breeze that kept everyone from overheating – lucky groom! You couldn’t have asked for better. When Angela walked out of that hotel lobby for their first look she looked totally breathtaking and Dan, who had been so patiently waiting with nervous anticipation, turned around with the best grin you could hope to photograph.
After a warm embrace and a few moments together, Dan and Angela stepped inside the lower lobby of the Grand hotel, before jaunting over to the ski lift for our trip to the mountaintop.
Andy and I rode in the lift ahead so we could reach around the side for a picture as Dan and Angela rode to the top.
We spent about 45 minutes atop the mountain with just the two of them, it was so stunning. There were flowers in bloom everywhere, with a vibrant blue sky with not even a hint of smoke in it.
This next photo is one of my personal favourites!
Seriously, every where you look up here just takes your breath away.
Isn’t Angela absolutely breathtaking?
Dan wasn’t looking too shabby either 😉 We love his blue suit!
To wrap up our time before the ceremony Andy and I pulled out some lighting to create a bit more drama.
Then it was time to hop back on the lift and ride own to the village for the ceremony.
If you are a mom reading this you’ll understand that usually when you say other people’s kids are cute, you secretly think yours are cuter haha. But this simply wasn’t true today. Angela and Dan have the most delightful children, so incredibly smart and well mannered. Watching them participate in their mother’s wedding literally melted your heart. Only immediate family attended the intimate ceremony in the garden just past the covered bridge in the village.
To end off the ceremony Dan and Angela participated together in the Kissing Rock tradition: This natural, heart shaped rock is called the “Kissing Rock”. When a couple marries here at the Covered Bridge in Sun Peaks, there is a tradition to follow. Both the Bride and Groom must place a kiss on the Heart Shaped rock. By doing so, the couple’s marriage will endure for many years to come, remaining steadfast, solid and strong, just like the Kissing Rock!
It was wrap up time. The rest of the family were waiting at a nearby restaurant for the reception dinner and it was getting too cool to stand around in a wedding dress outdoors. So we took a few more fun photos with the kids before releasing them to join their cousins.
This covered bridge is so cool, we were having a little too much fun photographing there! There are so many photos that we love from this final location.
Angela and Dan, you two are truly perfect for each other. The depth of love you share, the joy that the four of you have spending time together, and your incredible kindness testify to just how great you both are. Thank you so much for hiring us to be a part of this wonderful day, we absolutely loved meeting your kids and creating these photos for you to cherish always. Cheers to a beautiful wedding and an awesome life together!
